The Renaissance, bordering the Astoria and Long Island City communities
in Western Queens, a few minutes from Manhattan and the Triboro and Queensborough
bridges, is committed to bringing both style and heart to New York City
celebrations. We don’t carry any preconceived notions about what
an “ideal” wedding or event should be, and we seek to avoid
clichés or formulas in terms of style, cuisine and format. Those
goals are not difficult to achieve. The loveliness of the Renaissance
does most of the work for us, in terms of how the space engages each guest.
Our menus will captivate your palate and imagination. The elements of
our award-winning interior design—1st Prize, Queens Chamber of Commerce
Annual Building Awards Competition (2003)—will tend to the remainder
of your senses. Welcome to a renaissance in Queens dining and special
events. Here is your passport to a great time! We invite you to step out
of the ordinary, and into one of New York City’s most exclusive
event facilities.

Become your own Muse!
Bring us your theme, and we will create a portfolio of epicurean delights.
Perhaps, you are interested in a wedding-on-the-wild-side that features
tables brimming with wild boar and wild mushroom ragout, hearty venison
stew or roasted quail, toasty chestnuts and butternut squash with fig
and apple chutney. If a summer cool-down suits your fancy, may we suggest
fresh watermelon martinis. What do you have when you fill the hull with
ice and pony glasses of gazpacho? You have the start of a great party,
and an imaginative alternative to a plated course. If there is nothing
like mom’s rhubarb pie, bring us the recipe, and let us create the
pièce de résistance.

"Can we make that afternoon plane to Paris? Hmm, I see
a rainbow of linen, and smell boutonnières of fresh herbs.
I hear a string, no a barbershop quartet—yes. What about a brunch
wedding? How charming! We’ll make our 5:00 PM flight, with plenty
of time to spare. " |

Fusion
menus are our specialty, so bring us your culture. The Renaissance celebrates
our city’s diversity and distinct traditions. Our staff researches
the details of weddings, events and customs across the world, and attends
seminars related to ethnic food and observances. We also employ consultants
who work with our chefs to ensure the authenticity of regional and world
cuisines. Whatever splendor you seek—whether it is a West Indian
theme or South Asian wedding, for examples, our illustrious chefs and
staff will attend to the details and traditions respective of your heritage.

Corporate, Where?
The Renaissance is also the perfect place for your next business breakfast,
luncheon or formal fête. Our space is acoustically designed; you
will be heard, and we promise to provide the quiet environment you need
for your meeting. Like all events, menus can be customized according to
your tastes and budget. Our special event and wedding brunch also makes
for a noteworthy, impressive banquet. There are also times when you and
your colleagues simply need to de-stress and have fun, and we have plenty
of room and ideas to charm you for that uproarious purpose, as well.

Service Notes
Our staff comes to the Renaissance from some of New York City’s
finest restaurants: Jean Georges, Palladin, Allain Ducasse, Cipriani,
Café Boulud, Capsouto Frères, Nice Matin and Barolo, to
name a few. Many on our staff have extensive management experience, and
all are adept at responding to the overall needs of your guests and the
inherent differences in each event. We encourage teamwork, and you may
be assured that our associates will be there to attend to your guests.
Our service is formal, yet neither pretentious nor outmoded. Our servers
ensure an elegant, memorable evening, and you will leave knowing each
by name.
